GTX 1080-1070 Notebook Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi with the new Nvidia Pascal 1080 and 1070 Notebook chips coming very soon I am very excited to see benchmarks and have all the information.

However I have ONE question about these new chips and I am sure that I am not the only one curious about this.

Since Nvidia has confirmed that from now on we will not get "M" versions of the cards I am wondering if this means that standard format MXM format is going to be a thing of the past soon ?

In other words I would like to know if the 1080 and 1070 (Notebook) are going to have a standard MXM format or an extra large format like the 980 (Notebook)

If anyone here has any information about this even if it is unconfirmed rumors I would like to hear it.

Having a Clevo P750DM-G I can always use a graphics amplifier plugged into the thunderbolt port but I would love to be able to upgrade my 980m to pascal at some point.

I know this might be a bit to early to have any information about the chips but I am really curious about this.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Cheers.

      Hello all

I have a Clevo P370EM3 laptop with a pair of GTX 680Ms in SLI mode and have never been able to get Linux to work properly with full acceleration and without tearing. I have tried every xorg config I can find, and even all the modifications from the nvidia configurator to no avail. Has anyone been able to get these things to work 100% in Linux? I have typically used ubuntu based distros, including Mint, and every available driver version from the repositories, but can never get it to work quite right.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide. It is killing me to run Windows on this machine because of these issues, and I am almost to the point of installing the inferior 7970 cards.

      Have a great day

Help! I created a BOS BOOT DISK and use legacy to boot in DOS.   But it is saying that "An operating system wasn't found".   I have extracted all the files (the alienware m18x r2 a11 unlocked bios) into my external hard drive (format: NTFS)

I tried to extract the .bin from the .exe (on Dell's website) using PhoenixTool v.273, and in a way it worked... I want to change the TDP values on my 1060mq but when I tried to open the .bin in Mobile Pascal TDP Tweaker, this is what happened. Can somebody help me? Here's the original .exe and the .bin. Thanks!

(note: I wasn't able to extract the bios using AFUWINGUI64 or any other similar tool as I think Dell has some type of guard or protection against that, suspecting that's also the cause of my current issues...)

The new leak of NVFlash version 5.513.0 with their new RTX GPU (Turing) support is now available in our download section. This includes support for NVIDIA's new RTX 2080 Ti, 2080 and 2070 desktop GPUs. As always, use caution when reading/writing vbios files as you can potentially brick your card and void your warranty.
