Guest
How are they powering the laptop with an electrical connection? I cannot imagine any laptop would run on a battery pack for more than a few minutes with a GPU strong enough to support VR.
Chronokiller
Incredible form factor. I wonder how hot it feels on the wearers back.
Guest
I hope they use a Clevo based board. We could probably improve the run-time quiet a bit with a little 'Prema Touch'...
str8_an94baller
p650 based board? Edited July 27, 2016 by str8_an94baller
Guest
The P650RS has 4 RAM slots, the report only mentions two...
Guest
Why not something with a socketed desktop K-series CPU? It would be a shame to cripple it with a BGA turd CPU. It would be nice to be able to use if for something more than a VR backpack if one wanted to. This would be far too expensive to not have the capacity to pull double-duty as a full featured/full performance overclockable mini-desktop rig. BGA sucks. Guest
Here other 'VR Backpack' contender: MSI Backpack PC: Alienware Alpha: HP Omen X: Zotac Zbox: DIY BGA-Killer:

GTVEVO
Been using the Oculus Rift CV1 since release, I am hooked with VR. The experience is unexplainable when it works compared to monitor gaming, happy to see you are enjoying it also Prema. Guest
Clevo is also going to join the 'VR backpack' club soon...
clayton006
Have you used any of these backpacks yet? As an owner of an HTC Vive in a decent sized basement I don't have any problems with cables. That being said I have plenty of space and in a smaller location it may be more beneficial for the backpack?
chenzenn
There's a Chinese add-on coming soon that makes the vive wireless. That would eliminate most of the function of this vr backpacks
hd172
I'm hoping to get a VR system soon. I'll be running it with my p870dm3.
