We have some good news to share for all you mobile gamers out there! Rockstar Games has just announced GTA III: 10 year anniversary edition for Apple iOS and Android devices! It is set to launch on December 15th for $4.99 and will be available for purchase on Apple’s App Store and the Android Marketplace.

This is not some cut down version of the game either, it should be the full game you fondly remember playing on your PS2. Sadly, in the official list of supported devices, a noticeable omission is the hugely popular Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Note. Both of the aforementioned smartphones support the fastest processors currently available and very formidable GPUs.

Fortunately, it should be possible to play this game even without official support via Chainfire 3D (available to root users) on Android Marketplace. Once the game is released, we will test it on our Galaxy Note and S2 phones and report back so stay tuned!
