After Intel recalled Sandy Bridge a little over a month ago due to an SATA 2.0 flaw with it’s Cougar Point chipset, many vendors like Dell and HP pulled their systems from sale. Well it seems they are once again selling Sandy Bridge systems with the (hopefully) fixed Cougar Point chipset. Alienware made the M17x-R3 available for purchase again and it now features a $250 upgrade option for the AMD 6970M. HP has made available it’s Envy 3D 17″ featuring a Sandy Bridge CPU, dual hard drives and AMD 6850M GPU. Both of these new systems offer a 3D screen with the Alienware starting at $1499 and the HP at $1599.
