LG recently won a preliminary injunction due to patent infringement against Sony related to the Blu-ray disk playback which means that all new consoles imported to Europe according to the ruling of civil court of justice in Hague have to be confiscated for at least 10 days.
It’s worth mentioning that Sony imports around 100.000 consoles per week and an extended import ban could result to stock deficiency or in the case of being found guilty to a compensation of hundreds of millions of pounds since Sony has sold more that 3 million consoles from 2007 till today.
